Mission and vision
A foundation built like a farm, with more than one thing growing.
Timeless Traditions Foundation Community Development Corporation honors the Carter family legacy through cultural heritage, education, economic mobility, quality affordable housing, and generational health resilience.
Our mission
Inspired by a family history of farming and self-sufficiency, we turn historical preservation, lifelong learning, and economic opportunity into practical support for community health and wellbeing.

A vibrant, equitable community where families have stable housing, quality education, and generational health resilience.
In 1889, my grandfather and his two brothers bought 160 acres. My grandmother later expanded that footprint by 279 acres. Their churches, store, farm, and home became places for learning, food, work, shelter, and care.
Roots to Resilience
This season, the garden gave back.
The original season goal was 300 pounds. The harvest grew past it, then kept going. Every pound was shared at no cost.

Students document stories of long-term land ownership and the evolution of the regional community, building a physical and digital archive for generations to come.

Community Wellness Service-Learning Scholarship
Students lead a community workshop at the wellness garden or help design regional health advocacy programs. The award is earned through service as well as academics.

Fellows assist with strategic planning for the foundation or Echo Valley Micro Resort while learning to build precise organizational systems that last.

Students deepen the foundation's capacity to preserve Carter Farm through a required capstone project using the 45-acre estate as a living case study.
